Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ILX Studio, LLC ("we", "us") collects when you visit this website or use ILX Calcs (the "Service"), and how we use it.

1. What we collect

  • Account information: username, display name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password itself).
  • Your projects: the calculations, inputs, settings, title-block information and logos you save, with their version history.
  • Session cookie: one cookie that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the Service and is not used for advertising or to follow you on other websites.
  • Purchases: subscriptions are bought on a Stripe checkout page. Stripe processes the payment as merchant of record and keeps your payment details under its own privacy policy; your card details never reach us. To keep your license current we receive from Stripe the email address used, the plan, and the subscription's status and dates.
  • Desktop interest and free sample forms: if you tell us you are interested in the desktop application, or ask for the free sample report, the name, firm, email and comments you enter, and the time you sent them.
  • Server logs: technical records of requests (time, address, page, result) kept for security and troubleshooting. To limit abuse of the public forms, we keep a one-way hash of your network address for 24 hours.
  • Visit statistics: our own server counts the views of the public pages of this site, without cookies. A random id kept in your browser tab's sessionStorage links the pages of one visit; it is deleted when you close the tab and no other website can read it. Unique visitors per day are counted with a one-way code made from your network address and browser type with a key that changes every day and is discarded after 48 hours; neither the address nor the browser string is stored. We record the page, the referring site, campaign tags (utm_ tags in the address), a screen-size class, the device type, the browser family, the time on the page and how far down it you scrolled. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, none of this is sent. If you then create an account in the same tab, the account is linked to that visit (which page you arrived on and from where).
  • Product usage: when you are signed in to ILX Calcs we record which features you use (calculation types, designs, reports, drawings and sheets, exports, settings, support requests), your active time in the app and the app version, linked to your account. We use it to improve ILX Calcs, to help you when you contact support and to send the right trial emails. It is never sold, and it is shared only as described under "Ad measurement" below. It never includes your calculation inputs, project contents or names.
  • Ad measurement: if you arrive by clicking one of our Google ads, Google adds a click id (for example gclid) to the address. Our own script keeps it, with the campaign tags and the time you arrived, in your browser tab's sessionStorage (deleted when you close the tab). If you create an account in that tab, we store the click id with your account. We then send Google, from our server, only that click id with the time and type of each of these steps: you created your account, you first started your own calculation (or printed a report or drawing), and you subscribed (with the price). Google uses this to tell us which ads work and may use it to show our ads to people more likely to find them useful. We send no name, email address, project information or anything else, no Google script or cookie runs on this site, and click ids older than 90 days are never sent. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the click id is not kept. To stop it for your account, write to services@ilxstudio.com.
  • Trial emails: during your free trial we send you a few emails: how to get started, an offer of help if you have not started a calculation yet, a few tips, and a reminder before the trial ends. Each one has a link to stop them; emails about your account, security and purchases still come.
  • Theme preference: if you pick light or dark on this site, your browser remembers it locally. It is not sent to us.

2. What we do not do

  • No third-party analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising cookies: no Google, social-media or other advertising script runs on this site. The only information we give an advertising service is described under "Ad measurement".
  • No external fonts, scripts or video players that report your visit to someone else.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal information.

3. How we use information

To provide and secure the Service, to keep your projects and backups, to answer your questions, to tell you about the desktop application or ILX Calcs if you asked us to, to help you get started during your trial, to see which pages and features are useful, to measure which of our ads lead to sign-ups, and to meet legal obligations.

4. Where it is stored

The Service runs on servers operated by ILX Studio, LLC in the United States. The database is backed up daily; backups are kept for 14 days.

5. How long we keep it

Account information and projects are kept while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you close it, except where the law requires us to keep them longer. Desktop interest entries are kept until the desktop application launches or you ask us to delete them. Visit statistics are kept in detail for 90 days and as daily totals after that. Product usage, including an ad click id kept with your account, is kept in detail for 13 months, then as daily totals while your account is open, and is deleted with your account.

6. Your choices and rights

You can view and change your account details in the app at any time. To get a copy of your data, or to have it corrected or deleted, write to services@ilxstudio.com. To opt out of product usage, write to services@ilxstudio.com; a setting in the app will follow. To stop visit statistics, turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, for example under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act; we honor those requests.

7. Children

The Service is for professionals and is not directed to children under 16.

8. Changes

We will post changes to this policy on this page and, for material changes, tell account holders by email or in the app.
